Lavender oil is almost as common and utilized as lemon oil in aromatherapy and alternative medicine circles. It is derived from the distillation of the lavender flower spikes. Lavender perfume is an adequate mosquito repellant, and can also be infused with shampoos or soaps. Surprisingly, lavender oil is even being studied for its supposed effect of reducing mammary tumors in lab rats.
