Tea Tree oils are derived from the leaves of the melaleuca tree, originating in Australia. Recent tests and studies have found that Tea Tree can be used to eliminate staph bacteria including MSRA in sufficient concentrations, without the bacterium being able to build a resistance. It is known to kill several pests, especially blood insects such as mosquitos on contact, however this effect is negated when applied to the skin first.
