Flaxseed oil is rich in essential fatty acids, which the body needs to properly function, but cannot produce them on its own. One of the Essential fatty acids found in flaxseed oil is alpha-linolenic acid, which the body converts to omega-3 fatty acid, appears to reduce the risk of heart disease and other ailments. Alpha linoleic acid helps skin cells regenerate and become plumper, which visibly reduces fine lines and deeper-set wrinkles in the skin. One report showed that women who consumed the most linoleic acid had the youngest looking skin among persons 40 – 74 years of age.
